Hi, I’m Gabby, a Taiwanese woman who transitioned into digital marketing after 30, without a study-abroad degree or elite background. I broke into the Australian marketing industry and now work as a performance marketing specialist at a national cancer research organisation. My journey proves that with the right approach and steady progress, you can carve out a place in the global marketing world with no prestigious uni, no industry contacts required.

Before switching careers, I worked in theatre and events for over a decade. I started from scratch in my 30s, teaching myself digital marketing through Google and Meta certifications while juggling part-time jobs to gain hands-on experience. With no mentor and no one to polish my CV, it took me over a year to land my first full-time marketing job in Australia.

Today, I’ve grown from an entry-level assistant into a media buyer managing million-dollar ad budgets, with experience across eCommerce, education, immigration, not-for-profits, and real estate. I work with tools and strategies like SEO, GA4, sales funnels, remarketing, and content optimisation.
